About KS2 Science
KS2 Science helps children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (ages 7-11) make sense of the world through observation, questions and simple investigations. Our teacher-written quizzes turn the England National Curriculum into short, friendly practice that works at home and in the classroom.
Children explore living things and their habitats, plants and animals (including humans), materials and their properties, and physical ideas such as forces, light, sound and electricity. Each quiz is just 10 questions long, so it is easy to practise little and often, build key vocabulary, and strengthen scientific thinking without feeling overwhelmed.
To get the best results, choose a topic your child is learning at school, complete a quiz together or independently, then use the instant feedback to talk through any tricky questions. Repeating the same quiz a few days later helps knowledge stick and improves recall for tests and end-of-year assessments.
For official curriculum guidance, see GOV.UK: National curriculum in England: science programmes of study.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does KS2 Science cover?
It covers biology topics such as habitats and classification, chemistry topics such as materials and states of matter, and physics topics such as forces, light, sound and electricity.
How often should my child use the quizzes?
Short, regular practice works best. Aim for a few quizzes each week, review any mistakes, and repeat a quiz after a few days to strengthen long-term memory.
How can these quizzes support scientific enquiry?
They reinforce key vocabulary and concepts, helping children make predictions, notice patterns and explain results more clearly when they do investigations in class.
Are the quizzes aligned with the National Curriculum?
Yes. The content is written to match Key Stage 2 expectations, supporting learning across Years 3-6 and reinforcing what children are taught in school.
